Consignment Process

Pre Sale:

  • The first step is to contact our Administrative Department via email or phone. They will discuss the types of items you are interested in selling and request that you send photos. They will then provide you with the appropriate appraiser’s contact details or connect you directly to the right appraiser.
  • The appraiser will then discuss with you the type of pieces you have and will be able to advise you as to the suitability of your items for sale with us and provide you with estimates as to what they may sell for. Depending on the type of pieces you have, the appraiser may request an in-person meeting.

Consignment:

  • If you are satisfied with the estimates provided and would like to place your items for auction, the next step is to have your items brought into our showroom. We accept items during our business hours Monday to Friday 8:30-5 and Saturday 930-5
  • When your items arrive a member of our team will itemize them and provide you with a copy of your consignment sheet. An appraiser will review the items, modify the descriptions, attach estimates, and then assign them to the most appropriate auction. A final consignment sheet is then mailed to you with all information for your records.

Post Sale:

  • A cheque attached with a settlement statement will be issued 21 business days after the auction close date of your items. Statements are issued via cheque, which will be mailed or can be collected from our showroom. E-transfer or bank transfer options are also available upon request for added convenience.
  • Unsold items will be reoffered in the following sale with an adjusted estimate. If an item fails to sell a second time, you will be asked to pick it up, or it may be marked ‘To Be Returned,’ requiring collection or delivery within 30 days of the sale. After 30 days, a final notice will be issued.
