    Notes:
  • total weight: 2952 grams (94.9 troy oz.)
  • Condition:
  • Condition: a) Teapot: There is minor pitting to the body, most notably in the un-embossed convex portions of the piece, one or two qualifying is minor bruises/ deeper pits. The ivory insulators appear to be original and the handle is only ever so slightly loosened. The piece is marked in full to the base, with the handle being marked at top with monarch, and lion passant and bottom with maker's mark. Finial marked to a leaf with maker, lion passant and monarch. Interior of lid marked with maker, date mark and lion passant. b) Coffee pot: Hallmarked the same as above on base, handle, finial and underside of lid. There is a small 3-5mm diameter puncture where the body and handle connect with evidence of re-solder in the surrounding crevices (photo above). Handle/ insulators intact, and not loose, though one pin protrudes out slightly. Again as above, pitting to the body, most notably in the un-embossed convex portions of the piece, with a bruise to the central body of one un-embossed lobe (approx. 5mm diameter) c) Sugar: Hallmarked in full to base. Gilt wash interior, most likely re-gilt later. Same very minor pitting to body as noted above. d) Creamer: Hallmarked in full to base. Gilt wash interior, most likely re-gilt later. Same as above re minor pitting; with one pit more prominent, but without much diameter. There is a small 1 cm. hairline split near the top of the neck (see photo), not aesthetically disruptive overall. Overall despite pitting, and minor condition the set does not look to be in bad condition. There are no monograms, I have not found evidence to suggest there were monograms previously.
