A rare presentation Soviet Baikal MC-8-2 over/under boxlock shotgun,

presented by Premier Nikita Khrushchev to Prime Minister Zakaria Mohyeldin of Egypt in 1964,
12 ga. x 2 3/4 in., 750 mm vented barrel, Full choke, having an upper tang safety, with gilded double triggers, English style straight walnut stock with checkered grip, decorated with deep engraving, the left side of the receiver depicts an image from Viktor Vasnetsov's painting "Bogatyrs" of three figures on horseback, the right side with a scene from Mikhail Ivanovich Avilov's painting "Duel of Persevet with Chelubey" depicting two figures battling on horseback, the underside of the receiver depicts an image from Viktor Vasnetsov's painting a "Knight at the Crossroads" depicting a weary figure on horseback, other areas of the receiver are decorated with images of weapons, scrollwork, and flowering vines, accenting the engraving is a thin gilded line outlining the receiver, serial #600895

    Zakaria Mohyeldin was involved in Egyptian politics for many years holding various positions. Including being in charge of the Egyptian General Intelligence Directorate from 1952 to 1955, Minister of Interior from 1953-1958, Central Minister of Interior for Egypt and Syria from 1958 to 1961, Minister of Interior from 1961 to 1962, vice-president of Egypt 1961 to 1968, prime minister of Egypt from 1965 to 1966
